Of all my creative amusements, photography is the one that brings me closest to feeling like I'm hovering above the room on a cloud. Although if you were to drop in on a shoot, you'd likely find me precariously straddling the kitchen island and a chair back pointing my camera downward—no billowly clouds in sight. Food photography is grueling, tedious, physical work. Therefore, my advice is to always incorporate a chilled glass of wine into each shot, preferably just outside of camera range.
